Proudly Part Of The Community Of Sydney Catholic Schools

Why choose our school?

At St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School Clovelly, we deliver innovative and engaging learning programs in a safe, supportive and caring community. Our students are responsible and respectful, with Catholic values as the foundation of our teaching.

Our contemporary learning spaces, co-curricular activities, and highly qualified and experienced teachers enable the development of positive relationships and attentiveness to students’ individual needs. This makes St Anthony’s a learning environment that allows each individual to become spiritual, critical and creative thinkers connected to the world around them.

Principal’s Message

Welcome to St Anthony’s, a school boasting a rich history of excellence in teaching and learning.

Our school motto of ‘Love and Service’ is central to our school community. We strive to live out the Gospel values of Jesus each day in a supportive and caring environment that acknowledges and celebrates the gifts and talents of all those in the community. Here, we strive to “Make a Difference” as a community by embracing and celebrating the uniqueness, creativity and achievements of each individual.

We are an inclusive primary school that encourages agile, collaborative thinkers with learning that extends beyond the classroom. Your child will gain a holistic education at St Anthony’s, based on the Catholic values which underpin our curriculum and guide all our actions.

As a new Principal at St Anthony’s, I have personally experienced the warmest of welcomes from this astonishing school community.  Across the playground, I immediately witness children of all ages playing together – here you don’t only gain friends from your class, you gain friends from across the school.  I’ve also been struck by how energetic and enthusiastic each member of our dedicated and talented staff are. Our teachers nurture, engage and challenge each student to achieve their personal best. As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child, and this village is bursting with loving and supportive friends, parents and teachers.

We welcome students of all backgrounds, cultures and religions to join our school. Children enrolled in our school do not need to be of the Catholic faith but are expected to embrace our Catholic values.

I invite you to meet me and to come explore our school by visiting our Facebook page. Alternatively, if you would like a private tour or wish to speak to someone at the school, please contact the office on (02) 9665 7399 or email us.

St Anthony's Catholic Primary School Clovelly HistoryHistory
St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School Clovelly opened as a primary and secondary school with 45 students in 1918 and was staffed by the Sisters of St Joseph. In 1922, the second storey of the school opened with 220 students. St Anthony’s became solely a primary school in 1963. The three unique charisms of the Sisters of St Joseph, the Presentation Sisters and the Michaelite Fathers are celebrated through history, prayer and liturgy.

  • Making the traditions and teachings of Catholic heritage accessible and life giving for each other
  • Inviting and encouraging children to reach their full and whole potential
  • Assisting to live life with joy and meaning in the present, and to develop a critical and inquiring spirit of past and present for transformation of the future
  • Leading children to confidently know that they can make a positive difference in society
  • Working together to provide a pleasant, attractive physical environment, and an equitable distribution of school resources
  • Actively reflecting on our mission and evaluating success and failure in the light of the Gospel, to open new directions for the future.
